Employee Spotlight: Lynn

Lynn Murray

As Operations Manager, Lynn’s focus is to keep things running smoothly. Outside of work, you can find her putting in the miles as she trains for her next marathon. Here’s Lynn’s spotlight.

Hi Lynn. Can you tell us a bit about your position at DMT?

No two days are ever the same with my role but having said that I wouldn’t have it any other way. For anyone looking for 9 to 5 this isn’t the job for you, thankfully neither I am.

Project management, client liaison and accounting to organising team talks, office management and HR (to ensure staff are booked off at the right time for well-earned holidays) there’s never a dull moment.

What attracted you to the company?

I’ve been with company for quite some time and the same thing keeps me here as in did on day one – that’s the genuine respect, fun and can-do attitude within the business. DMT works hard and plays hard and when challenges arise, we get over them together.

What kind of challenges do you face in your role?

Challenges within my role are resisting cakes, biscuits and sweets on the office meeting table. Any challenges in my role tend to end up being positives as I use them to learn and develop. To me challenges are opportunities in disguise. I do need to learn to be a little more quiet (I’m sure the team will agree). Oh, I’m rubbish at pool and darts and so NEVER win.

What’s the best bit about your role?

People – quite simply that!! Client and team members make my job fab. I’m a people person and always have been. Bringing people’s social media to life is brilliant and extremely rewarding on so may different levels.

What’s been your favourite project to work on so far?

Ohh! Favourite project – I can’t really pinpoint any one in particular. If I really had to choose one it would be Edwards Grounds Estate Agency.

If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?

All of them. I’m nosy, so I would like to see and hear about everything that’s going on in as many different ways a possible.

Finally, what advice would you give to anyone wanting to get into the industry?

The advice I’d give to anyone wanting to become an Operations Manager here at DMT would be – you can’t have it as I will never be leaving my job!!

Thanks Lynn! We’re excited to see what’s around the corner for yourself and the team.
