Lockdown is lifting and spring is springing, and we’re welcoming more and more people to the dmt family. In fact, we’ve recently welcomed two (!) new PPC executives to the gang. We’ll be chatting to Lucy in a short while, but for now, let’s get to know Joe S!

The Work Stuff 📈

Tell us about your role as one of the PPC executives here at DMT.

My job title is PPC Executive. I work across a number of clients setting up their Google Ads campaigns. This could be normal search campaigns or shopping campaigns. Once they’re performing well (fingers crossed!) I’d optimise and hope for even better results.

Tell us about your background. What led you to this career/industry?

I started off as an apprentice for an affiliate gambling company, working my way through organic social roles and progressing all the way to Social Media Manager. I then decided to further my skills by going into Paid Media roles.

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?

I’ve worked in two very different industries: gambling & B2B. So I’ve experienced a number of different clients and ways of working.

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

As soon as Boris opens everything up I’ll be moving to Manchester. Had enough of that commute after 7 long years!

The Personal Stuff 👩‍💻

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Sarcastic, funny & chilled.

What’s your favourite cultural moment of this past year and why?

Being stuck inside I actually watched quite a bit of TV, but I normally prefer to be out and about. The Last Dance on Netflix was a massive eye-opener, just the insane mindset Michael Jordan had inspired me to always do & demand the best.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

My favourite hobby is probably playing cricket, it’s more about having a few drinks after the game these days though.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Boy bands – my music taste is questionable but there’s plenty of classics being played.

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

Anything to do with dogs. In the past year, I’ve donated what I can to a number of charities trying to help dogs in the UK & abroad.

The Fun Stuff 🥂

Give us your best Northern Quarter bar recommendation.

I’d probably go to Terrace, we normally go there after work. Wilson’s Social used to be a favourite but I haven’t been back since it changed hands, unfortunately!

If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?

I’d be Twitter due to the viral content & sarcastic replies being in their millions.

Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?

Brian Clough, Freddie Flintoff, Peter Kay, Will Smith & Craig David.

Quickfire Qs 🎯

What are you watching?

Just finished Bloodlands, and about to start Last Chance U – Basketball

What are you reading?

I’m a terrible reader, but anything on ‘The Athletic’.

What are you listening to?

R&B classics every day of the week.

Who are you ignoring?

Anyone being negative 12 months into a pandemic!

Who are you following?

@thedropdateclothing – Keep on missing out on new releases…

Thanks so much for letting us get to know you, Joe! We look forward to seeing all the great work that our new PPC executives will accomplish on the team!
