3 Best Leeds Bars For After-Work Drinks
Social media management for Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram.
’Tis the season to be jolly, so we got our heads together and listed our three favourite bars for after-work drinks in Leeds. The city is brimming with fantastic bars to hang out in during the early evenings, with plenty on offer for all types of tastes. Whether you’re after laid-back beers or indulgent cocktails, the Leeds after-work scene has you covered. Let’s get started. Cheers!
Colourful Cuckoo on Call Lane is a place for escapism, making it the perfect venue if you’ve had a rough day in the office. The Cuckoo menu features a wide range of quirky cocktails and a variety of both savoury and sweet pizzas, which are served free with every drink until 9pm every day (yes, really!). With neon lights casting an otherworldly glow across the bar, you really have fallen down the rabbit hole when you wander into Cuckoo land. Drinkswise, the Royal Grape Martini is an eye-catching choice that features a mini bottle of prosecco in the glass. Hungry? Why not try their Marmite pizza? You definitely won’t get bored with this menu.
2. The Pit
The Pit on Merrion Street offers burgers, beers and cocktails in abundance. Having recently relaunched their menu to add a South American twist to their BBQ delights, it’s a great choice for spice lovers. A modern interior features neon lights, cosy booths and large tables, so it’s ideal for big groups looking for a casual post-work drink. There’s a huge cocktail menu to take your pick from, but we’d suggest keeping it simple with a margarita and some nachos. For beer fans, you can’t go wrong with a Kona Hanalei IPA – all Kona brews are delicious.
3. Outlaws Yacht Club
The Outlaws Yacht Club on New York Street is a hipster paradise. With a relaxed atmosphere and quirky decor (think vinyl and artwork on the walls, old-fashioned sofas and tonnes of beards), its a great spot for creatives looking to blow off steam after clocking off. It’s also half coffee shop, half bar, so it has a laid-back ambience with a Yorkshire twist. Their coffee cocktails are divine – we recommend the classic espresso martini. Food-wise, you should definitely go for a sharing board, which you can build yourself from a delicious choice of meats and cheeses. Oh, and there’s a happy hour. Enjoy.
