Employee Spotlight: Alana

It’s been a long time coming, but the lovely Alana finally sat down with us to give us a little glimpse into her life. Find out this experienced Paid Social Exec’s thoughts on travelling, being environmentally conscious, and Elton John!

The Work Stuff 📈

Tell us about your background. What led you to this career/industry?

My first job was a blended marketing/buying role for a small dancewear company. I ended up falling into Fashion Buying and have worked for companies such as Boohoo and NBrown over the past few years. After a year of travelling, I decided I wanted to try something new - I did a Masters in Digital Marketing ‘back in the day’ and realised I wanted to pursue this as a career!

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?

I think my background in fashion and supply chain will help me navigate the world of ecom & give me a wider understanding of businesses as a whole.

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

I will always be up for a boujee (or non-boujee) lunch.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Loving, supportive & sociable.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

Cooking, tennis, and travelling - I have also just bought a pair of roller-skates!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Gilmore Girls.

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

I think we should all have climate change at the front of our minds. I try to eat veggie most of the time and do what I can to reduce my waste! The world is beautiful: we need to look after it!!!
