Happy New Year!

We hope you had a lovely time over the festive period, celebrating with friends, family, and everyone else in between.

If, like us, you're ready to start 2024 with a bang, then you're in luck! We've got a brand-new face to introduce you to.

Say hello to Brad, our new Senior PPC Executive.

We sat down and chatted away with the green-fingered musician about all things PPC and his favourite Manchester pubs.

The Work Stuff 📈

Tell us about your background. What led you to DMT?

I studied Film and Media Studies and University and after that worked as a waiter, in retail, and a call centre. A mixed bag, but one that eventually led me into PPC and DMT!

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?

I’ve worked in both small and big agencies prior to this, which had very different processes and ways of running. Working with retail and lead gen clients. I’m looking forward to learning more and sharing my knowledge with the team and clients.

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

Shameless plug - I’m in a psych/punk band, often playing around Manchester and also in Glasgow later this year. Our first album is currently being mixed 👀 We have material on Spotify, too.

The Personal Stuff 👨‍💻

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Fun, reliable & spontaneous.

What’s your favourite cultural moment from the past year and why?

The missing submarine was a wild time. I was checking hourly updates for days on that!

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

Other than my music, I’m an avid gardener and love growing my own vegetables. This year, I’ll be growing Chocolate Tomatoes, Cucamelons, and Thai Purple Snake Beans and setting up a verticle garden. Bring on spring!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

It’s got to be Love Island. I get sucked in every year.

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

Endometriosis UK, my wife is an Endo warrior 💪, so it’s one close to my heart. It doesn’t have much awareness, considering it affects 1 in 10 women.

The Fun Stuff 🥂

Give us your best Manchester bar recommendation.

Any old man pub, the grottier the better. I'm a big fan of The Castle in Northern Quarter, and the Crown and Kettle has an amazing selection on tap.

If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?

Twitter (or X, if we have to call it that). It’s the main one I scroll, and I find it hard to look away from all the arguments.

Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?

Jim Morrison, Julia Roberts, Jimi Hendrix, Alessandro Vitale & David Bowie.

Quickfire Qs 🎯

What are you watching?

I’ve been going through the films on Mubi Player over Christmas. It’s made a good change from the usual on Netflix. Highlights have been Aftersun, How to Have Sex, and The Worst Person In The World.

What are you reading?

I recently watched the Louis Theroux interviews with Pete Doherty, so I’m on a Libertines thing at the moment and have just started his autobiography.

What are you listening to?

Radio 6 every day.

Who are you ignoring?

My cats as they meow for their breakfast at 3 in the morning.

Who are you following?

The January transfer window is open, so any accounts covering signings.

Thanks for sharing, Brad! Make sure you keep us updated with your band's latest gigs (and get us some tickets, too 👀).
