The Work Stuff 📈

Tell us about your background. What led you to DMT?

I’ve always loved writing for as long as I can remember.  I would come home after school and sit for hours writing my own little stories. Throughout my degree as a linguistics student, I became fascinated by the power of words. It was during the first lockdown that I then thought about turning my hobby into a career. I luckily bagged an internship at an online fashion magazine and from there, I went on to start up my own freelance business. After a year of working Independently, I decided it was time to become part of a team. I applied to one job and here I am! 

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?

My undying love for fashion & my ability to keep up with the latest trends proposed by Vogue. As well as reading daily articles, my experience as an online fashion writer has really helped me with the digital world of fashion copywriting. 

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

That their secrets are safe with me! As someone who loves to listen to & support my friends, I’ll never be the person who they can’t rely on.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Selfless, sociable & easy-going.

What’s your favourite cultural moment of this past year and why?

Louis Theroux rapping “my money don’t jiggle jiggle”.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

Fashion blogging, Instagramming & helping out small businesses.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Home Alone 1 & 2. Summer or winter, Kevin McCallister is no stranger to my TV.

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

Fashion brands with eco & ethical values. Over the past year, I have really cut back on fast fashion. I also no longer feel the need to buy a new outfit for every occasion. As someone who once loved posting fresh OOTD photos every day, I am quite proud to say that I now love to rewear & repurpose a lot of my outfits.

Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?

My dream dinner guests would definitely be all 6 members of Friends. However if I had to choose 5, It would probably be Rachel, Ross, Joey, Monica & Chandler. Sorry Phoebe!
