Our ever-growing team has just got a little bit bigger. Say hello to Naomi, our brand-new Customer Success Manager. We sat down and chatted away with the crime documentary lover who shared all the details, including her favourite cultural moment of the last year (we hadn't heard of it before, but it's very funny!)
The Work Stuff 📈
Tell us about your background. What led you to DMT?
I think I have a weird background in the sense that the things I was into and did creatively in my free time - music journalism, event management, radio - didn’t directly impact what I ended up doing. I think wanting, above all else, to be surrounded by passionate and creative people is what led me to DMT.
What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?
I’ve worked in a lot of different environments with a lot of different personalities and hierarchies in mostly supporting roles, which meant I had to be super approachable and accommodating, but not so much so that people stopped valuing my time or position. I think that’s a unique and important energy to give off, one that I had to really work on and develop over the years.
What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?
I mostly connect with people through humour and music, trying to guess what music people might be into or suggesting something based on first impressions, etc.
The Personal Stuff 👨💻
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Creative, resilient and patient (I only agree with two of them).
What’s your favourite cultural moment of this past year and why?
A Belgian farmer moved a stone and accidentally redrew Belgium’s border with France. It’s funny and interesting.
What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?
I make a lot of my clothes, and I'm trying to get into woodworking & carpentry.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Justin Bieber but only like 6 songs. If any song outside of the six comes on, I have to mute or skip it immediately.
What causes are you supportive of, and why?
I’d say I stand for/try to embody things rather than support causes, if that makes sense!
The Fun Stuff 🥂
Give us your best Manchester bar recommendation.
I haven’t been in Manchester that long so still in the exploratory phase.
If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?
Pinterest. I used to hate it.
Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?
Blackbean CMS, JID, Kevin Shields, Saba & Jack Stauber.
Quickfire Qs 🎯
What are you watching?
Crime dramas & documentaries, and a lot of animated stuff to balance out the crime.
What are you reading?
I mostly listen to books now...
What are you listening to?
A lot of Spotify ads in between about 5 years' worth of music.
Who are you ignoring?
Things that/people who waste my time.
Who are you following?
I’m not really on any platforms where I follow anyone anymore, but when I was, it was mostly creative people who inspired me to be/do the same.
Thanks for sharing, Naomi! We'll make sure to play the right Bieber songs throughout the day and can't wait to show you all of our favourite bars around the city!
