It’s another week at dmt, and another week of introducing someone new to the team! This week we’re meeting the lovely Emily, our newest paid social exec. Let’s get to know her a little bit…
The Work Stuff 📈
Tell us a little bit about your role of paid social exec here at dmt.
As a paid social executive, I get to work with clients in order to promote their brands across social media. I do a mixture of optimisation and ad building on platforms like Facebook, Instagram & Tiktok.
Tell us about your background. What led you to this career/industry?
I studied Fashion Promotion at university which allowed me to explore different roles within the industry, from creating brands and running promotional campaigns, planning content, styling, editing and social media. I wanted to start my career in social media in a fast-paced and exciting environment, and Digital Media Team is the perfect place!
What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?
I think that my experience of studying fashion really gave me an insight into the industry, and my mix of creative and analytical skills lets me see things from a different perspective.
What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?
A good cup of tea and we’re best friends!
The Personal Stuff 👩💻
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Supportive, chilled and stylish.
What’s your favourite cultural moment of this past year and why?
It was amazing to see the country come together and support the England football team at the Euros. After the lockdowns over the past year, it was so nice to see everyone out celebrating. I was devastated we didn’t win in the end but there’s always the World Cup next year!
What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?
I love fashion and have for as long as I can remember. It’s taken many years to curate my wardrobe, and I won’t lie, there have been some disasters along the way! But I use my clothes as a way to express myself creatively, and never shy away from colour! I love looking into the history of fashion too, so I’ve got a fair few books on my shelf.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
No guilty pleasures – got to own what you love!
What causes are you supportive of, and why?
I think what Marcus Rashford has done campaigning to help feed children across the UK is amazing. No child should ever go without and the support and awareness he brought to the issue was just incredible.
The Fun Stuff 🥂
Give us your best Northern Quarter bar recommendation.
YES bar, who doesn’t love a slice of pizza and a pint on the roof terrace?!
If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?
Ooh hard one, but I’d probably go with Pinterest because it’s the organised chaos that is my brain.
Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?
Beyoncé, Emmeline Pankhurst, Harry Styles, Liam Gallagher & Gemma Collins.
Quickfire Qs 🎯
What are you watching?
The Handmaids Tale.
What are you reading?
True Crime Story by Joseph Knox.
What are you listening to?
XS Manchester radio.
Who are you ignoring?
No one, I’ve probably just got my headphones too loud!
Who are you following?
So many people with great style.
We’re excited about the flair and fashion Emily is going to bring to the office, as well as her marketing expertise, of course. If your brand needs a bit of paid social love and care, Emily and the rest of the paid social execs would love to help you! Get in touch below…
