Hello, dear readers of the dmt blog page.

Yes, it's us again. Your favourite Manchester-based, award-winning digital marketing agency.

We're back with a brand-new face to introduce you to.

Say hello to Sophia, our new Senior PPC Executive!

We sat down and chatted away to the chocolate and music lover about all things PPC and more.

Check out her full employee spotlight just below.

The Work Stuff 📈

Tell us about your background. What led you to DMT?

I studied International Management with a marketing focus. Graduated during the COVID chaos and initially dabbled in organic social media. As I craved a stronger data focus, I dove headfirst into PPC, learning a ton through courses, blogs and YouTube. This landed me a job with a well-known eCommerce giant, but I knew agency-side was my next career move.

Learned about DMT, and before I knew it, I was part of the team! Now, I'm excited to delve into interesting client projects.

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?

I think I bring a unique twist to the role with my German background, adding an extra layer to the cultural marketing context. Also, while Google Ads is my forte, my cross-platform experience is what truly helps me create strategies that align with our clients' wider goals.

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

I'm very approachable and always up for a chat about anything, really!

The Personal Stuff 👨‍💻

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Attentive, compassionate & resourceful.

What’s your favourite cultural moment from the past year and why?

Ahh, there are so many... my top ones are:

  • Barbenheimer.
  • A cockroach making an appearance at the Met gala.
  • The infamous Big Red Boots (respectfully, no).
  • The ‘girlfriend effect’ TikTok trend.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

Outside of work, you’ll find me immersed in all things art and design, exploring local eats, having dinner parties with my friends, and checking out the gig scene, from jazz and R&B to ambient pop.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate! Especially the semi-controversial fruit & nut. I’ve also got an entire ‘Guilty Pleasures’ playlist, with bangers such as ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ or ‘A Thousand Miles’. Absolutely not ashamed of it, though!

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

Good question. There are so many causes to support, but I think one of the high-impact ones would relate to global health and wellbeing.

The Fun Stuff 🥂

Give us your best Manchester bar recommendation.

The Blues Kitchen, YES, Kitten, New Century, and my newest discovery, Diecast.

If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?

I’d want to say TikTok as it’s quirky and where I spend most of my time on. But I’m not a Gen Z-er, so realistically, I would probably rather be Instagram.

Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?

Meryl Streep, Vivienne Westwood, Jim Carrey, Dale Carnegie, and Steven Bartlett.

Quickfire Qs 🎯

What are you watching?

The Bear Season 2.

What are you reading?

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

What are you listening to?

Currently Omar Apollo, BROCKHAMPTON, Jordan Ward, The 1975, Thundercat, and Troye Sivan’s ‘One of Your Girls’ on repeat.

Who are you ignoring?

My wardrobe which is in desperate need of a ruthless declutter!

Who are you following?

Mainly wellness creators, artists, MCR guides, and industry leaders for the newest PPC insights.

Thanks for sharing, Sophia! We can't wait to hear about the latest music events you've been to.
